Running a study

A study is the backbone of the group. You can start one in a single tap, or plan out a whole book.

Pick your kind of study

  • A named study— just a title (“Summer in the Psalms”). One tap, no structure. Great when you’re keeping it loose.
  • A book study — choose a book of the Bible and Kingdom Groups lays out the weeks for you, with a discussion question set for each week you can edit.

Start a book study

  1. 1Go to Studies → New Study and choose a book. The picker shows an effort label so you can gauge the commitment.
  2. 2Set how many weeks you want — accept the suggested plan or set your own week count.
  3. 3Decide whether every week meets the same way or whether meetings vary week to week (see Meetings & RSVPs).
  4. 4Save. Your group now sees the current week on the Home screen and in Studies, with a discussion thread for each week.

Members can set a preferred Bible translation in their profile, and reading links open in their translation automatically.

During the study

  • Each week has its own discussion comments.
  • Advance the current week whenever your group is ready.
  • Edit any week’s questions to fit your group’s conversation.
