After a meeting

Almost every group runs long on a good discussion. Kingdom Groups expects it, so recording what you got through and catching up are two taps in the same place, not a rebuilt plan.

Where to find it

It is on the study page, under the session that just met, and it appears only once that session’s meeting date has arrived. Ticking chapters off before you have covered them would be noise.

  1. 1Open Studies and tap the study.
  2. 2Tap the session that just met in the row of session pills. The current one is already selected, so usually there is nothing to tap.
  3. 3Scroll to What we covered. It sits directly under Attendance, because they are the same job: recording what actually happened.

Nothing chases you for this. If a meeting went by and you never ticked anything, the chapters simply stay unmarked until you do, and the study is happy to wait.

Tick what you actually covered

Each chapter in the session is a chip. Tap the ones the group got through and they turn green; the count beside the heading reads 2 of 3.

This is kept separate from what was planned on purpose: the plan can move, but the record of what happened should not.

Only leaders can tick chapters off. Everyone can see the result.

Move what is left forward

If anything is unticked, Move what is left forward appears just below the chips. It gathers every chapter nobody has covered, including ones from meetings that already happened, and offers two ways to fit them back in:

  • Keep the pace, add meetings. The group covers the same amount each time and the study runs longer.
  • Keep the dates, cover more each time. The study finishes when it was going to, with more in each session.

Before anything changes you see the outcome stated plainly: 2 sessions, through Sep 29, up to 1 chapter each becomes 3 sessions, through Oct 6, up to 1 chapter each. Nothing happens until you tap Apply.

What replanning never touches

  • Session numbers. Session 4 is always session 4, so a comment about it still means the same meeting.
  • Anything already discussed. Comments, answers, attendance and RSVPs all stay where they are.
  • Your content edits. The material belongs to the chapter, so it moves with the chapter.

You can replan as often as you like. It is the ordinary way to run a study, not a repair.
